Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman will miss the rest of the West Indies tour after injuring his hamstring. Despite his absence, Pakistan secured a 2-1 T20I series win, driven by strong batting performances.

During the second T20I in Lauderhill, Florida, Fakhar Zaman injured his left hamstring. The incident occurred in the 19th over while he was fielding, attempting to stop a boundary.

Fakhar, aged 35, showed visible pain after sprinting in the outfield. Medical staff confirmed a mild hamstring strain, ruling him out of the third T20I and the upcoming ODI series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced Fakhar’s return to Pakistan on August 4. He will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore under the PCB’s medical team.

No replacement has been named for the ODI squad. Fakhar’s injury leaves Pakistan without a key batter, who scored 28 and 20 in the first two T20Is.

This is not Fakhar’s first hamstring issue. Earlier this year, a similar injury during the Champions Trophy forced him out after replacing the injured Saim Ayub.

Despite Fakhar’s absence, Pakistan clinched the T20I series 2-1. In the third match, openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub built a strong 138-run partnership.

Farhan and Ayub’s half-centuries powered Pakistan to 189/4. Their aggressive batting set a challenging target for West Indies in the series-deciding match in Florida.

West Indies started their chase well, with Alick Athanaze scoring 60 off 40 balls. Sherfane Rutherford added 51 off 35, but their team fell short by 13 runs.

Pakistan’s bowlers held firm under pressure. Their disciplined performance ensured West Indies couldn’t capitalize on their strong start, securing Pakistan’s series victory.

Fakhar’s injury is a setback for Pakistan. His experience and aggressive batting style were vital, and his absence may impact the team’s performance in the ODIs.

The team’s ability to win without Fakhar highlights their depth. Strong contributions from Farhan and Ayub showed Pakistan’s batting lineup remains competitive.

West Indies fought hard but couldn’t secure their first T20I series win against Pakistan. Their middle-order struggles proved costly in the final match.

Fakhar’s recovery will be closely monitored. His return to full fitness is crucial for Pakistan’s upcoming challenges, including future international tours and tournaments.

The series win boosts Pakistan’s confidence. Despite the injury blow, their balanced performance in Florida sets a positive tone for the ODI series ahead.
