New Delhi: Recently there has been a push towards LPG gas cylinders. Especially with e-KYC there has been confusion among customers. Many do not understand whether their e-KYC is mandatory or not.

However, the central government has given a clear message in this regard. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, e-KYC is not a new rule. This is part of a long-standing process, the main objective of which is to keep LPG customers' information accurate and up-to-date.

Who will do e-KYC? According to official data, e-KYC is not mandatory for all LPG customers. Only those who have not yet completed e-KYC, need to complete this process.

That is, if you have already done e-KYC, there is no need to do it again. How to do e-KYC? Those who have not yet done e-KYC are advised to complete the process as soon as possible.

Various LPG companies are offering this facility through mobile apps. For example, Indian Gas customers can do e-KYC using the 'Hello BPCL' app. Also, e-KYC can also be done by visiting the nearest gas agency.

Why is e-KYC required? The government claims that through e-KYC it will be possible to bring more transparency in the LPG system. Fake and duplicate gas connections can be detected and controlled.
