Recently, many people are using glass bottles at home to live a healthy life by avoiding plastic. From keeping water in the fridge to setting the dining table—glass bottles are now everywhere. But the problem arises when it comes time to clean these bottles.
Cleaning moss or water spots on the inside of especially narrow-mouthed designer glass bottles can be quite a chore. Even a regular bottle cleaning brush often does not fit through that narrow mouth. If you are also struggling to clean the dirty and stubborn stains from the inside of glass bottles, you can try using some common kitchen ingredients.
These 4 simple tricks will make your problem easier in no time. For bottles whose mouths are too narrow to accommodate the brush, this method works magic. Put a handful of raw rice inside the bottle.
Now add a few drops of dish washing liquid soap and some lukewarm water. Hold the mouth of the bottle with your hand or shake vigorously for a minute. The inner wheels will act as a scrubber and scrub off all the dirt that sticks to the glass.
After washing with water, the bottle is shiny! Sometimes the water in the glass bottle has white spots or a slight smell. For this solution, pour one spoon of baking soda and two spoons of white vinegar inside the bottle.
When these two ingredients mix together, bubbles will form. Now fill the rest of the bottle with lukewarm water. After leaving it like this for half an hour, shake the bottle and discard the water and wash it with clean cold water.
Both stains and odors will disappear. As surprising as it may sound, newspaper is great for cleaning glass. Cut small pieces of newspaper and put them inside the bottle.
Now add a spoonful of salt and a little water. A good shake of the bottle will easily clean the moss or dirt accumulated in the inner corners with the friction of paper pieces and salt. If the inside of the bottle is oily or has a light coating of algae, squeeze the juice of a lemon into the bottle.
If you want, you can cut the lemon peel into small pieces and throw it inside. Now pour some hot water in the bottle and leave it for some time. The citric acid in the lemon will completely cut the oiliness in the glass and leave a nice fresh smell out of the bottle.
Never close a glass bottle after washing it. Drain the water by turning the bottle upside down and capping only after complete drying. It will not create any new vapsa smell in the bottle.
